Auditions

Principal Artist Auditions
The Lyric Opera holds annual auditions in New York City in early December for principal roles in operas scheduled for the following year. These auditions are by appointment only (through management or individual-arranged). For more information contact Tracy Davis at tmdavis@kcopera.org.

Supporting roles are generally cast from the Lyric Opera of Kansas City AGMA ensembles or the University of Kansas and Universiy of Missouri-Kansas City apprentice programs.

The Lyric Opera will hear artists in Kansas City throughout the year, when the theatre is available, but that is often difficult to arrange and the artist must furnish his/her own accompanist. Prior confirmation of such scheduling of auditions in the theatre is needed. For more information contact Tracy Davis at tmdavis@kcopera.org.

Chorus Auditions
The Lyric Opera will hold open chorus and comprimario auditions on February 20 & 24, 2010 for the 2010-2011 season. Interested singers should prepare two songs in contrasting styles for the audition, one in a foreign language. All auditions will be held at 712 E. 18th St., KCMO. Supernumerary Information
