The theme of the 2010 Lyric Opera Ball is Passion Reigns – passion for the opera, and passion for our volunteerism and what we do to give back to our community. Contributions from the Lyric Opera Ball, in time and dollars, have raised more than $8.5 million over the past 20+ years for the Lyric Opera.

This year’s Benefactor Party will be held at the gorgeous Sunset Hills home of Sonya and Jim Nutter. We are grateful for the Nutter’s generous support of the Lyric Opera Ball and appreciate all they do for our community. The exclusive Benefactor Party, held to honor and thank patrons at the $1,000 and above level, will be held on Thursday, April 15th. The 2010 Lyric Opera Ball will feature entertainment from the finest local,
national, and international musicians, all of whom are passionate about the work of the Lyric Opera.
Flamenco guitarist Beau Bledsoe (right) will begin the evening’s entertainment during the pre-Ball auction and will continue his Spanish-flavored performance when he is joined by a sultry flamenco dancer.
International opera singer, and star of the Lyric Opera production of Don Giovanni, Keith Phares (left) will give Lyric Opera Ball guests a preview of his seductive performance during the delectable dessert course of the elegant five course meal.
Capping off an evening of exciting entertainment will be the nationally recognized – and locally adored – Dave Stephens Swing Band (right), performing their signature Kansas City swing for your dancing pleasure.
