Soprano Alyson Cambridge returns to the Lyric Opera as Micaëla after receiving rave reviews for her portrayal of Mimì in La bohème (2009).

Bernard Uzan returns to the Lyric Opera to direct this ALL NEW production of Carmen after directing the critically acclaimed production of Tosca in 2009.

The vast original sets designed by Lyric Opera Scenic Designer R. Keith Brumley will transport you to the streets of Seville, Spain.

Synopsis

Carmen can have any man she wants. When Don José seems disinterested, she is drawn to the challenge. Carmen strings him along while Don José abandons his duty and his pride in pursuit of her love. The toreador, Escamillo, gets between the two, and Don José slips into a deep, murderous despair.
