Soprano Nili Riemer who was lauded for her portrayal of Mabel in the 2009 production of The Pirates of Penzance "appears to have been born to sing the title role" in Daughter by The Ithaca Journal.
The Guardian says that tenor Victor Ryan Robertson who will sing Tonio in Daughter “offers an appealing, well-defined tenor with plenty of energy.”
Dorothy Danner Directs Daughter! Ms. Danner returns to the Lyric Opera after directing The Pirates of Penzance (2009) and The Merry Widow (2006) in her signature choreographed staging style. Her expertise in comedic timing promises to have you laughing long after the final curtain.

Synopsis
The loveable tomboy Marie gives the regiment of French soldiers who raised her a scare when she falls in love with a man outside the infantry. Meanwhile, her noble birthright haunts her when she is taken away from the men in her life to have a “proper” upbringing. Alas, at the end of the day love prevails over privilege.
