The rental fee is based on a maximum of 5 performances. A fee of $1,500.00 will be charged for each additional performance. Shows on a revolving repertory system will be at a cost of $1,000.00 per performance, in addition to the rental fee.

(2)  Black Out Drops, Black Scrim, Black Masking, 1930’s  Film Cameras, 1930’s lighting instruments, chain motors for furthest up stage drops.  Full costumes (1930’s Costumes rented from Kansas City Rep. – Costume Designer will pull the entire package for the production – but must contract with Kansas City Rep.)

Crew Requirements:
The following crew sizes and hours were used for scenery load-in - the number may vary for the renting company depending on its own theatre and production schedule. The Lyric Opera of Kansas City pre-hangs electrics before scenery load-in.

NOTE: The renting company is required to provide round trip airfare and hotel accommodations for the technical supervisor. This show requires technical supervisor assistance as follows: 1 to 2 days for load in (10 hours) and 1 day for load out (6 hours).

Scenery Notes:
Down stage right and down stage left platforms signify Hollywood back lot and a backstage door.  Both cantaleever 3’ out into the orchestra pit right and left.  Ultimately, we were using an overall playing position of 64’ off stage right and off stage left; with an access to the apron below the proscenium line.

Additional upstage storage bay would help facilitate the scene changes as choreographed by the director.

Transportation:
This set requires 2 (two), 48 foot air ride trucks, equipped with E-track or logistic posts; load bars or straps; and packing blankets. The renting company assumes all responsibility for transportation. Transportation may be arranged through the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.

Insurance:
The renting company must supply the Lyric Opera of Kansas City with a certificate of insurance for $200,000 (two hundred thousand dollars).

General Information:
Director Garnett Bruce has right of first refusal on directing this piece. The renting company must approach Mr. Bruce in writing inquiring his availability to direct the piece for them including the renting company’s rehearsal and performance dates and contain a proposal to remunerate Mr. Bruce with a reasonable sum of money and other benefits consistent with sums the renting company has paid to its other stage directors in the past. Mr. Bruce's availability or unavailability does not have any bearing on the rental.
