Ginger Frost High School Honors Artists

Advanced opera training for the aspiring young singer

Ginger Frost High School Honors Artists is an exclusive program for high school singers serious about exploring the world of opera and professional singing.   Each year a limited number of talented students are selected by auditioning for the same “eyes and ears” that cast our main stage productions.

These high school singers pick a dream role from one of the productions in the Lyric season, learn role preparation techniques and observe main stage artists preparing those roles in rehearsal.  They take part in a series of free masterclasses led by respected opera professionals including singers, conductors, and directors. They may be called upon to represent the Lyric by singing or assisting for various events, and their season culminates in a spring recital.

These young singers go into their undergraduate music studies with a strong foundation and invaluable practical knowledge about what it takes to be a professional singer.

Auditions for the 2017-18 Ginger Frost High School Honors Artists will be held in early September.
